What We Believe

At Chrystopher James Ministries, we’re passionate about Jesus, committed to the Bible, and convinced that faith should be lived out in everyday life—not tucked away in the back of a cupboard like an old board game. Our beliefs aren’t just ideas on paper; they shape who we are, how we live, and why we do what we do. So, whether you’re new to Christianity or a seasoned believer, we’d love to share the heart of what we believe.

God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

We believe in one God, who exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Think of it like a divine trio, working in perfect unity. As the Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:4, “The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” God is our loving Father, Jesus is the Saviour of the world, and the Holy Spirit is our ever-present helper, empowering us to live the kind of life God calls us to.

The Bible: Our Foundation

We don’t just see the Bible as an ancient text gathering dust. It’s alive, active, and speaking to us today (Hebrews 4:12). We believe the Bible is inspired by God, infallible, and the ultimate guide for faith and life. It’s a bit like a spiritual sat-nav—you can always count on it to point you in the right direction.

Jesus Christ: Our Saviour and King

Jesus is at the centre of everything we believe. Born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again, conquering death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). He’s the Saviour who offers us forgiveness and new life. One day, He’s coming back as King, and trust us, that’s going to be a pretty big deal!

Salvation: A Gift You Can’t Earn

Here’s the good news—salvation isn’t something you can work for. It’s a free gift of grace, given by faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). Through His death and resurrection, we’re forgiven, restored, and set free. It’s not about how good we are; it’s all about how good He is. All we need to do is believe and accept that incredible gift.

The Holy Spirit: Our Empowerer

The Holy Spirit is like the power boost you never knew you needed. He fills and equips us to live godly lives and spread the good news of Jesus. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, evidenced by speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4), and that the Spirit gives us gifts to build up the church and reach the world.

The Church: Not Just a Building

We believe the Church isn’t just a building or a Sunday morning routine—it’s the global body of believers, united in faith. We’re called to love, support, and encourage one another, just like Hebrews 10:24-25 says. Everyone has a part to play in the Church, from the frontlines to behind the scenes.

Baptism and Communion: Symbols of Faith

We practice water baptism as a public declaration of faith in Jesus (Matthew 28:19). It’s a powerful outward symbol of an inward transformation. We also regularly take communion, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice through the bread and wine, as He instructed in Luke 22:19-20.

The Return of Jesus: Hope for the Future

We believe Jesus is coming back. We don’t know when, but we know it’s going to be glorious. When He returns, He’ll bring justice, set things right, and establish His kingdom in full (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). Until then, we live in eager anticipation, holding on to the hope of eternity with Him.

Mission: Sharing the Good News

Our mission is simple: to share the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone, everywhere. We’re called to go out into the world and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20), whether that’s in our neighbourhood, the workplace, or halfway across the globe. We believe God’s love is for everyone, and it’s too good to keep to ourselves.
